Watercolor. I kind of did random brush-strokes and now I've decided it looks like a red and purple dragon flying into a field. With sparks and blue explosions. One of my friends thought it looked like a blood smear....but I think she's been drinking the bong water again.
This piece has a nice flow to it, with a good use of complementary colours and movement. The colours are vivid and bright, and I agree with you about the dragon point; the long brushstrokes remind me of oriental work very much. It's nice how all the strokes are facing the same direction, creating an illusion of speed which fits in with the dragon point. That said, some areas of this piece clearly had too much water in them when painting, explaining the slightly blotchy appearance of the shrubbery (?). I would also have liked to see some good mixing and blending of the colours, just a little, to create a more enticing scene. I see you have used oil pastel here in places, or at least it looks like it, and when these two techniques are combined you can get very interesting results. But here, they compete for competition and so almost block each other out. More careful highlighting with the pastel would have avoided this.
